Earth is constantly on the move in multiple ways. Here are the four primary motions:
Rotation – Earth spins on its axis once every 24 hours, giving us day and night.
Revolution – Earth orbits the Sun once a year, responsible for our seasons.
Galactic Motion – Our solar system moves around the center of the Milky Way galaxy, completing one orbit roughly every 225-250 million years.
Universal Motion – The Milky Way itself is moving through space, influenced by the expansion of the universe and gravitational interactions with other galaxies.
We always travel forward in time, clocks varying in their rates, but not sign. Never backward. The paradoxes of Time Travel will not apply. In the movie Looper, for example, characters went back in time and confronted themselves. It’s not going to happen. Nor will you be able to “go back” and kill Hitler or your grandfather.
But here’s a thought experiment for you. Suppose you encapsulate yourself and drop off the face of the Earth. Suppose you also manage to neutralize all 4 types of motion. Suppose you remain in suspended animation for a while. Suppose you then open a line of communication with Earth. You would find that you have aged faster than the people on Earth who continued on their way. Is it not so!?!?
